Floor Plans!

Here is one of the first initial floor plans. It was in correlation to the conceptual design sketch I posted previously. This however is still fairly large and over scaled. For a regional city though, I don't think they need quite as much space. It would be unused and wasteful.

Not only that, in the master plans, I have decided to get rid of the existing buildings that are on the site next to it. Namely the bowls club. This plan is so fat that there is no way that the bowls club can stay there. In Rethinking, I would really like to keep the position of the bowls club, only because It would help integrate the social sustainability of the building, into the community more. Not only that, the Bowls clubs in regional centres provide an essential and fundamental sociability tool. Take my grandad for example; He plays bowls, not only for the physical activity, but because he has freinds there. Not only that, he has travels up and down the east coast of Australia, making new friends and connections with people, And my grandmother, socialises with the ladies, who not only do they play bowls also, but they help with the catering and food preparation. It is one giant social gathering for the generally senior community, which I think is undervalued by other generations in Australia. If I had more time, I likely would try and redesign the bowls club and precinct.

And not only that, the older generations generally like to have their say in politics - Well if i go off the debates that my grandad and I have, that is certainly true. (There is not a visit that goes by that we don't get into heated debates about the governing of the country.) Perhaps the Bowls centre could effectively latch onto the political forum, just as another medium for expression. A bit like the old saying that business deals happen on the golf course?
